Song of the Week 11-20

#11-We Will Carry the Torch

The world lies in darkness lost in their sins.
And they don't even know, the danger their in.
We who are called to that glorious fight,
Must shine like a beacon of love, in the night.

Chorus:
We will carry the torch.
We will lift up the flame.
We march through the darkness with the light of his name.
Until the glory of God, is seen by the world.
We will carry the torch of the Lord.

There's no need for failure, there's no need for fear.
For the Lord goes before us to make our paths clear.
Let the glorious flame, let the glorious light.
Let it shine out through you and shine in the night.

The torch is our Saviour the hope for all men.
And as we lift Him up, he will draw all men to him.
To him

Chorus

#12-Mephibosheth

In a place called Lo-debar,
Lived a young man who was crippled from a fall.
His name was Mephibosheth.
The son of Jonathan, the son of Saul.
He was trying to survive.
Since Jonathan and Saul were slain,
Seemed all hope was in vain.
Each lonely night was spent in fear,
Of what another day would bring.

Then one day King David said,
"There is one thing I'd like to do.
Is there one of the house of Saul.
Someone I could show my kindness to."
Some said down in Lo-debar,
There lives the son of Jonathan,
Mephibosheth the crippled one.
David said "Go and find him,
And bring him this message from the king."

CHORUS:
"Mephibosheth, forever put your fears to rest.
Come and be my table guest.
To you I'll be a father,
And my son you'll always be.
Mephibosheth, please accept the invitation.
I've made all the preparations."
Mephibosheth cried "Oh how can this be.
That a king could ever love someone like me."

Living in Lo-debar,
Where there's no comfort for a troubled soul.
Just a place full of broken hearts.
Never knowing what the future holds.
But now that I've met the king.
There's nothing like his love for me,
Now I'm part of the family,
Since someone came and knocked upon my door,
With this message from the king.

BRIDGE:
I rejoice when I recall those days
I watched those city gates.

When I said good-bye to Lo-debar,
Never to return.

#13-Beyond the Cross

Needing strength for my journey,
I knelt at the cross.
Where Jesus once died for me.
And I asked,"Is this the place,
Where hope abides?"
And this, He said to me:

"Beyond the Cross, is a tomb that is empty.
You won't find Me there anymore.
And beyond the tomb, is life ever-lasting.
And hope for evermore."

Then I sought reassurance, and I went to the tomb.
To the place where His body once laid.
And I cried, "Lord, help me see. Is there hope here for me?"
And this I heard them say:

#14-Nothing Is Impossible

I chose this song because Bro. Holmes preached on how God make impossible things POSSIBLE.

Nothing is impossible when you put your trust in God;
Nothing is impossible when you're trusting in HIS Word.
Hearken to the voice of God to thee:
"Is there anything too hard for Me?"
Then put your trust in God alone and rest upon HIS Word;
For everything,
O everything,
yes everything is POSSIBLE with God!

#15-The Sun's Coming Up

#16-I Love This Land

There's a man who lives beside me,
Who fought in World War II.
Who proudly waves Old Glory,
From high above his roof.
He starts out every morning,
Like it's Independence Day.
I've seen him at attention,
Salute the flag and say;

CHORUS:
"I love this land,  from sea to shining sea.
I love this land, home of the brave and free.
I love the liberty, the justice, and the truth in which it stands.
One nation under GOD. I love this land."

All across the country, big cities, little towns.
While mama's getting ready,
Dad pulls the car around.
They join the congregation,
To sing Amazing Grace.
They're free to worship Jesus.
And they are free to pray.

GOD bless America,(America) land I love.
Oh I will stand beside her,
And defend with my life.
For my children, for freedom.

(I pledge allegiance, to the flag, of the United States, of America.
And to the Republic, for which it stands, one nation, under GOD.
Indivisible, with liberty and justice for all!)

#17-El Shaddai

El shaddai, el shaddai,
El elyon na adonai.
Age to age your still the same,
By the power of the name.
El shaddai, el shaddai,
Erkamak na adonai.
We will praise and lift you high,
El sheddai.

Through your love and through the ram,
You save the son of Abraham.
Through the power of your hand,
You turned the sea into dry land.
To the outcast on her knees,
You are the GOD who really sees.
And by your might, you set your children free.

Through the years you made it clear,
That the time of Christ was near.
Though the people couldn't see,
What Messiah ought to be.
Though your Word contained the plan,
They just could not understand.
Your most awesome work was done,
Through the fraility of your son.

El shaddai, el shaddai
El elyon na adaonai.
Age to age your still the same,
By the power of the name.
El shaddai, el shaddai,
Erkamka na adonai.
I will praise you till I die,
El shaddai.

#18-O Lamb of GOD

Your only Son no sin to hide,
But you have sent Him from your side.
To walk upon this guilty sod,
And to become the Lamb of GOD.

O Lamb of GOD,
Sweet Lamb of GOD.
I love the Holy Lamb of GOD.
O wash me in His precious blood.
My Jesus Christ the Lamb of GOD.

Your gift of love they crucified,
They laughed and scorned Him as he died.
The humble King they named a fraud,
And sacrificed the Lamb of GOD.

I was so lost, I should have died,
But you have brought me to your side.
To be lead by your staff and rod,
And to be called a Lamb of GOD.

#19-O Lamb of GOD

#20-Make A Difference

We are called to make a difference in a world that needs God's love.
We are called to make a difference through His Word from above.
May we be a people willing to obey,
And follow our Savior each and every day.

Compassion makes a difference through the hope that Jesus brings.
His Gospel message is the reason  that we sing.
We will make a difference. We will share His truth and pray,
For repentance in our nation and revival in our day.

We are called to make a difference for a people trapped in sin.
We must humbly go and tell them of Christ's freedom from within.
May His Holy Spirit empower us today.
And we as His people trust Him and obey.

We are called to make a difference in our needy world today.
If we're purified through His Word and before Him humbly pray.
Then our lives are different and Christ is glorified.
And His  mighty power is seen before their eyes.
